Servicing & Repair

Servicing & Repair of Opticron equipment is carried out at our headquarters in North Carolina.

If you are experiencing a problem with your equipment please return it to us in one of the following ways;

1. Through an Authorized Opticron Dealer
Dealers are usually able to make simple assessments of any damage and should be able to pack and dispatch the item on your behalf. Some authorized dealers carry loaner stock for you to use while your instrument is away and will liaise with you throughout the process. Please contact your nearest Authorized Opticron Dealer for more information.

2. Direct
If you prefer, or if it is more convenient, please return your instrument directly to us for evaluation.

To make sure we have the correct information please download and complete a Repair Form (PDF) to accompany your equipment and make sure the instrument is properly packed for shipping.

On receipt, an inspection will be carried out and a decision taken on whether the fault is chargeable or covered by the warranty assigned to the product. For information on the warranty terms assigned to your product go to Warranty Information


Warranty Repairs
Warranty Repairs are normally carried out within 5 working days of receipt. Please allow 5-7 days for return shipping.

Non-Warranty Repairs
If the repair is not covered by the warranty, a quotation will be emailed or posted to you. Authorization to carry out the repair can be made by email, phone, fax or by post and should include payment in full. Information on how to pay will be detailed on the quotation. Non-Warranty repairs are normally carried out within 7-10 working days after receipt of payment. Please allow 5-7 days for return shipping.

What if I choose to decline the repair?
If you choose to decline the repair the instrument will be returned to you.

Who pays postage?
You pay to send the item to us. Warranty repairs and unrepaired items are returned free of charge. Chargeable repairs have return postage added at subsidized rates.
