MMS 160mm Travelscope

The MMS 160 image stabilized Travelscope is the latest addition to the Opticron travelscope family and offers users the ability to observe a wide range of subjects in close-up detail using a hand held zoom magnification device. Typical uses for the MMS include wildlife observation, long distance surveillance, monitoring infrastructure (towers and bridges and buildings), tracking aircraft and shipping.

The image stabilization system incorporated into the MMS cancels out image-shake or tremor caused by the body when viewing at magnifications of 10x and over. The results are a stable, clear and comfortable hand held viewing experience.

      MMS 160 - Phil Farndon

      Wednesday, July 19, 2017

Opticron have come up with the goods yet again with this truly useful innovation. The MMS 160 could be an invaluable addition to the armoury of any birder. Wildlife photographers who carry large cameras and lenses combinations, that can easily weigh over 5kg, would also find this a really useful light weight spotting tool.

      MMS 160 - Steve Young

A quick glance out of the window at the garden birds brought a young Blackbird that was skulking in the shrubbery feeding on apples and pears into focus. The colours were bright and clear and the image was very sharp; as I zoomed through the range to the maximum setting I noticed the image starting to shake so I switched on the IS. The difference was instant as it clicked into action and the shake was visibly reduced to virtually nothing at all.
