Cornwall Wildlife Trust - donation of four pairs of Wildlife Trust branded binoculars for use in the Seaquest Southwest Project - www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/seaquest

"Seaquest Southwest is a marine recording project run jointly by Cornwall and Devon Wildlife Trusts that collects sightings of all marine creatures from the public. It has given us amazing insights into the movements and behaviour of our in shore bottlenose dolphin pod, porpoises, grey seals and basking sharks. This information is used to raise awareness of the threats to marine creatures and help protect them.

The project trains volunteers to carry out surveys from the coast and regularly runs public sea watching events from sites around Cornwall which are opportunities to talk to the public about the amazing marine life right on our doorstep and to encourage and inspire adults and children alike to get involved in our monitoring project.

Having binoculars to lend to volunteers on these public sea watches is essential as a whole world is immediately opened up to them and thanks to Opticron's generous donation we are able to show people who may never have seen dolphins, seals and basking sharks how fantastic they are when seen up close!"
